A Lunar New Year Reflection from Rose & Honey

Today 2/17/2026 marks a turning in the lunar wheel.

A quiet closing of the Wood Snake

and the distant heat of the Fire Horse beginning to rise.

Lunar New Year is not only celebration.

It is re-calibration.

For thousands of years, across villages and dynasties, people watched the sky and asked:

What is this year asking of us?

The Wood Snake

The Snake is not loud.

It moves by intelligence, not spectacle.

It sheds what constricts.

It studies before it strikes.

Wood gives the Snake growth, roots, strategy, patience.

This past cycle has asked many of us to:

• Release identities

• Outgrow environments

• Heal quietly

• Rebuild beneath the surface

That is not weakness.

That is preparation.

The Fire Horse

The Horse does not coil.

It runs.

Fire does not wait for permission.

The Fire Horse is movement after integration.

Visibility after incubation.

Courage after grief.

If the Snake was the shedding,

the Horse will be the stride.

Rose & Honey stands between those breaths.

Why Rose & Honey

Our name holds the tension of this transition.

Rose — thorn and bloom.

Honey — sweetness earned through collective work.

The rose grows through pressure.

The bee gathers from many fields.

Honey stores sunlight for winter.

We are not a brand built on rush.

We are built on pollination.

From stone and seed.

From prior chapters.

From quiet work that few saw.

The bee teaches us something essential:

It does not destroy the flower.

It carries its memory forward.

That is what we are doing now.

Carrying memory forward.

The Ancient Layer

Lunar calendars were agricultural calendars.

They determined planting.

They marked migration.

They aligned community with season.

In ancient Egypt, honey sealed offerings.

In Rome, the rose symbolized sacred secrecy — sub rosa.

In early spring rites across cultures, fire marked renewal.

Snake.

Horse.

Rose.

Honey.

Each carries a lineage of transformation.

Our Intention for This Year

As the Snake completes its shedding and the Horse prepares to run, we choose:

• Precision before expansion

• Integrity before visibility

• Community over noise

• Cultivation over consumption

Rose & Honey will grow like a garden, not a headline.

We will move — but only when the stride is true.

A Quiet Invitation

If this past year asked you to shed,

to grieve,

to rebuild quietly —

You are not behind.

You are between coil and flame.

And between coil and flame is where roots strengthen.

Tomorrow, we honor the turning.

From Wood to Fire.

From Strategy to Motion.

From Survival to Creation.

Welcome to the new cycle.
